An economical solution for adding the benefits of fan aspiration
to your wireless
or cabled Vantage Pro or Pro Plus. Half the
cost of our other fan-aspirated radiation shields, but nearly
75% as effective in reducing the effects of daytime radiation.
Solar-powered fan runs during the day. Since there is no backup
battery, the fan will cease running when night falls and the
effects of radiation are less.Kit includes fan,
solar panel,
additional radiation shield plates and hardware.
Note: Only
for use with later-model Vantage Pro1 or Pro1 Plus stations with
round radiation shield plates; not for use with earlier
models with rectangular plates.
Hints and tips:
>The battery for the ISS module is type CR 123 (3 volt Lithium)
>In order to calculate the number of sunshine hours, adjust
level 120 W/m2
>Take care that the clock of the console is not later then
the computer:
this can cause download problems!
> If you get the message: no data to download do the following:
1. Go to the set up screen by pushing and holding the DONE button
and then at the same time push the "-"
button
2. remove the 3 C cell batteries
3. remove the main power adapter power
4. remove the datalogger
5. let it sit like that for 1 minute.
6. reseat the datalogger. Make sure it is in the slot really
good.
7. power up with the main power adapter
8. listen for the 3 beeps on power up.
9. put the batteries in after you get the 3 beeps.
10. When the screen says "Receiving From" on the bottom
push the BAR button
11. Make sure the screen says Serial Baud Rate 19200
12. Push the DONE button until the screen goes back to the current
reading
13. Go to software and re-set the time.
14. Wait until you get some data. If your archive interval is
30 minutes, wait one hour.
15. download
16. check the Browse data by clicking on the pad of paper and
pencil icon.
17. current data should now be there.
Updating
the console:
Vantage Pro2 Console/Envoy Firmware Updater Software
Introduction:
This application
uploads the firmware to Vantage Pro2 Console/Envoy through
the
PC serial COM port or USB port. This replaces the updater for
updating
firmware and makes it easier to use. The firmware has
already embedded in
the application and no additional file is
needed. In order to utilize this feature,
the console/Envoy firmware
should be dated in November, 2005 or later. It also
requires
the Davis Data Logger and any Streaming Data Logger to be connected.

The two drivers

1. SiLabs_WIN_USB_DRIVERS_4_40.exe
This is a completely Vista compatible driver from Silicon Labs
for use with a USB Windows Weatherlink package. Prior versions
will work with Vista as long as the comm. port emulated is 1
through 4. To emulate a higher comm. port you will need the
latest 4.40 version.
2. cardinal-osx-V1_02_2-release.dmg
Silicon Labs has released a BETA version of an Intel Mac USB
driver for use with a USB Macintosh Weatherlink package. It
is compatible with both standard OS X Macs as well as Intel Macs.
We will likely include this in our Macintosh 6520 package very
soon. We have been testing it here with no problems.
